General Summary of Position
The Technical Sales Representative’s focus is to assist with customer retention, to maintain existing accounts and work closely with engineering and the production team to deliver solutions to our customers. Additionally, the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for helping to identify and develop new business opportunities.
The Technical Sales Representative role is to be the liaison between the customers and all internal departments at DGS so the overall customer technical needs are met.
Essential Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry contacts.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate gasket materials and solutions.
- Provide technical support, including product selection, quoting, and application guidance.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals.
- Track sales activity, maintain CRM data, and report on key metrics.
- Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as needed.
- Prepare annual customer price books with updated prices based on current costs.
- Prepare price quotes for new parts and custom RFQ’s.
- Read and understand customer requirements of all specifications.
- Create necessary certification forms relating to any customer parts.
- Manage the Customer Experience in a positive manner while helping to ensure that any challenges are resolved. (i.e. going on site to a customer location to review a customer order, educate customers on DGS products and services, complete root cause analysis to help ensure for lower customer rejections)
- Track Non-conformances and corrective action plans.

- Must have reliable transportation (Employee is expected to be on site at customer locations, as requested. Additionally, there will be instances when employee is requested to attend Trade Shows/National Industry events, on behalf of DGS)

- Generally works indoors, may work outside dealing with extreme heat >85 degrees, extreme cold <32 degrees.
