Assistant Controller

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing team in Lansdale, PA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into the details, improving processes, and contributing to a team environment where your work directly supports day-to-day operations and long-term business goals.
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly accounting tasks that support the financial health and accuracy of the organization. This includes bank and general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and coordination with internal departments and external partners. The right candidate will take a proactive approach to improving systems and supporting the Finance team with reliable, timely information.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Perform reconciliations (bank accounts, balance sheets, general ledger)
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
Work closely with AP, AR, payroll, and fixed asset processes
Monitor cash flow and help prepare reporting packages
Coordinate audit documentation and support internal controls
Assist with payroll processing and review
Conduct daily Positive Pay fraud review in WSFS portal
Process commissions and referral payments
Handle workers' compensation reporting and insurance communication
Communicate with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and vendors as needed
Participate in department process improvement initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of accounting or finance experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Manufacturing or distribution industry experience is a plus but not required
Prolonged periods of computer work
Occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Ability to manage periods of high volume during reporting cycles
