The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, staging, and organizing materials to ensure efficient production flow. This position ensures that all components, tools, and supplies are accurately accounted for and delivered to the appropriate production areas in a timely manner. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy against packing slips, and inspect for quality or damage
Stage materials for production according to job requirements
Accurately account for doors, trim packages, fillers, outlet covers, trim sheets, build folders, and other job components
Use check sheets to confirm completeness before materials move to finishing
Move parts from sanding to finishing areas, ensuring proper handling
Maintain accurate inventory records and report shortages or discrepancies
Assist in packaging finished products for shipment with correct labeling and documentation
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety policies and participate in safety training
Cross-train in other production support tasks as needed
High School Diploma or GED
1–2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred
Ability to read work instructions and job travelers
Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
Forklift certification or ability to become certified
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to bend, lift, and push up to 50 pounds with proper protective equipment
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Occasional exposure to temperature changes and loud noise
Must follow PPE requirements at all times
