Position Summary: The Entry Level Mechanical Engineer supports the Engineering Department with documentation, drawing creation, product detailing, and coordination between engineering and operations. Current professional Solidworks experience required. This role maintains the accuracy of engineering data, assists with change control activities, and contributes to the development and standardization of parts, assemblies, and Bills of Materials used in manufacturing.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Documentation and Drawing Control • Create, update, and maintain SolidWorks part models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
• Apply correct dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards to support manufacturing accuracy
• Participate in the engineering change process, including ECO, ECR, and DCO updates
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal procedures
Product Development and Engineering Support • Assist engineers with projects and assigned tasks related to product design or improvement
• Support engineering reviews and contribute to problem solving activities
• Track design changes and document engineering decisions
Manufacturing and Operations Support • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and purchasing to standardize parts and assemblies
• Support the transition of engineering designs into production
• Follow drawings through the manufacturing cycle to identify issues and assist in corrective actions
• Maintain accuracy of data used in the MRP system for parts, assemblies, and materials
Bill of Materials and MRP Responsibilities • Create and maintain Bills of Materials • Enter and update parts and assemblies in the MRP system
• Verify alignment between drawings, BOMs, and system data
• Support data cleanup and standardization efforts within the MRP environment

Education and Experience Requirements • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
• One to three years of SolidWorks experience gained through internship, co-op, or professional engineering work
• Experience with formal documentation processes such as ECO, ECR, or DCO preferred
• Experience with Bills of Materials and MRP/ERP data entry preferred
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment or production processes is helpful
• Knowledge of basic GD&T is beneficial
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or reviewing drawings
Ability to walk through production and lab areas as needed
Ability to lift, carry, or move materials, prototypes, or components up to 25 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, or position oneself to review equipment or parts in a shop environment
Visual acuity required for reading drawings, inspecting parts, and working on a computer
Ability to hear and communicate in environments with moderate machinery noise
Dexterity to handle small parts, prototypes, or drawing materials when needed
