Position Summary The Quality Inspector/Shipping Technician is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. This role works closely with the Quality Manager, Production Manager, and Shipping Team to maintain product integrity and on-time delivery. In addition to inspection duties, this role supports shipping activities as needed, including order verification, packing, labeling, and documentation.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the production floor, handling parts, using measurement equipment, and supporting multiple operational functions.
Key Responsibilities Quality Inspection
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using handheld measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, ring/plug gauges, optical comparator, etc.). The ideal candidate has experience utilizing CMM machines and has experience in inspecting glass, metal, and/or injection molded components.
Verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and revision levels.
Complete inspection records, travelers, and Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) accurately and legibly.
Support calibration and recalibration activities.
Quality System Support
Follow ISO 9001:2015-compliant procedures and work instructions.
Maintain organized inspection records to support traceability and audits.
Communicate inspection results clearly with Production, Engineering, and Quality.

Shipping & Logistics
Verify outgoing orders against pick lists and customer requirements.
Package products to prevent damage and ensure cleanliness and presentation.
Apply correct labels, documentation, and shipping paperwork.
Assist with coordination of RMAs, returns, and reworked product shipments.
Support inventory movement and basic material handling when required.
Some flexibility required to support production, inspection, or shipping demands.

Qualifications & Skills Required
High School Degree or GED.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or machine-shop environment.
Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, scanning, electronic records).
Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
Willingness to assist in shipping and operational tasks as needed.
Preferred
Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
Familiarity with inspection documentation, COCs, and traceability requirements.
Experience with calibration, gage control, or lab-related products.
Material-handling experience (a plus, not required).
Physical Requirements:
Required to bend, lift, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift and move packages and parts
Employees should not be lifting materials off pallets without being asked to do so by their Manager and only after using provided protective equipment.
Frequent sitting, standing, stooping and walking in the production floor for extended periods of time.
Must be able to read and write work instructions.
Employees must adhere to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements at all times.
Occasional exposure to extreme temperature changes, cold and warm temperatures, and loud noise.
