Technical Sales Representative (3/2026)

General Summary of Position

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for assisting with customer retention and helping to identify and  develop new business opportunities while managing existing accounts, and working closely with engineering and production teams to deliver solutions.

The Technical Sales Representative role is to be the liaison between the customers and all internal departments so the  overall customer technical needs are met. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry contacts.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate gasket materials and solutions.
  • Provide technical support, including product selection, quoting, and application guidance.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals.
  • Track sales activity, maintain CRM data, and report on key metrics.
  • Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as needed.
  • Prepare annual customer price books with updated prices based on current costs.
  • Prepare price quotes for new parts and custom RFQ’s.
- Read and understand customer requirements of all specifications.
  • Create necessary certification forms relating to any customer parts.
  • Manage the  Customer Experience in a positive manner while helping to ensure that any challenges are resolved. (i.e. going on site to a customer location to review a customer order, educate customers on products and services, complete root cause analysis to help ensure for lower customer rejections)
  • Track Non-conformances and corrective action plans.

Must posses strong attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent communication skills; written and verbal communication.
  • Teamwork – Ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Customer Engagement – Ability to create a positive customer experience and retain assigned accounts.
  • Ability to take and follow directions.
  • Advanced trigonometry and geometry knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to read and understand complex Military specifications or similar documentation.
  • Familiar with and able to use hand tools: tape measure, calibers, etc
  • Must read and write English.

  • Complies with all Dooley Gasket and Seal Inc. policies and procedures and PA laws.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:


 
  • Must have reliable transportation (Employee is expected to be on site at customer locations, as requested.  Additionally, there will be instances when employee is requested to attend  Trade Shows/National Industry events
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, bend, walk, squat for full work day.
  • Generally works indoors, may work outside dealing with extreme heat >85 degrees, extreme cold <32 degrees.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee may occasionally handle objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Walk up and down stairs frequently. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.












EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in manufacturing or industrial products
  • Engineering experience/background is a plus
  • Working knowledge of gaskets, sealing materials, or related mechanical products is a plus
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft 365, and quoting software
