Nazareth Academy High School (NAHS), a Roman Catholic, college preparatory school for young women founded by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth (CSFN) in Philadelphia, PA, seeks a mission-driven, visionary educational leader to serve as Principal. Building on the school’s proud 97-year tradition, the Principal serves as the chief academic and student-life leader of the school, fostering excellence, innovation, and faith formation in partnership with the President, faculty, families, and the Board.


The Principal reports directly to the President, who has ultimate responsibility for the school. The Principal is responsible for all aspects of the academic program, faculty leadership, and student experience and collaborates closely with the President and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth to advance the mission, strategic priorities, and long-term vitality of Nazareth Academy High School.

Essential Responsibilities

Catholic Identity & Mission


Lead the integration of Catholic identity throughout academic and student life; model faith-centered leadership; and collaborate with the CSFN sponsor to advance mission formation across the school community.
Academic Leadership


Provide vision, leadership, and accountability for all academic programs, ensuring a rigorous, mission-centered college preparatory education grounded in best practices and continuous improvement. Oversee curriculum, instruction, assessment, academic innovation, and compliance with state and accreditation standards.  Instruct one class per academic year.
Faculty Leadership & Development


Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop faculty and academic staff in partnership with the President. Foster a professional culture of collaboration, accountability, growth, and instructional excellence.
Student Experience & Success


Provide leadership for student life, guidance, counseling, discipline, and co-curricular programs. Promote student well-being, equity, and academic achievement and ensure a safe, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.
Community, Enrollment & Collaboration


Collaborate with the President on enrollment management, retention, and institutional priorities. Serve as a visible, accessible leader to students, families, and the broader school community.
Operational & Organizational Leadership


Manage the day-to-day academic operations of the school, including scheduling, staffing, and academic policies. Uphold confidentiality, ensure effective communication, and support school-wide initiatives as a member of the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership or a related field
  • Demonstrated success as an instructional leader; secondary school experience preferred
  • Practicing Catholic, committed to the mission of Catholic education
  • Eligible or willing to obtain Pennsylvania Principal certification
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as necessary
