A Company located in Telford, PA is seeking a hybrid Manufacturing Engineer with a heavy focus on Process Engineering and a support focus on Quality Engineering. The Engineer will lead the improvement of product quality and process efficiency through data in the manufacturing environment following continuous improvement methodologies. You will be responsible for root cause analyses up to defining process parameters and implementing process changes. You will work under the Director of Manufacturing while also closely working alongside the Production and the Quality Departments to ensure product quality.
Role Responsibilities
Manufacturing Improvement: Design and implement optimizations for production. Lead the transition of products from engineering to production by establishing proper tooling/fixturing, workflows, documentation and training.
Production Support: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the shop floor. Resolve real-time manufacturing challenges as they arise. Address equipment performance, preventative maintenance, material issues, and structural challenges to minimize downtime.
Equipment Integration: Identify, specify, and implement new machinery and custom tooling within budget and scope as defined by management. Drive the adoption of manufacturing aids and fixtures to improve repeatability, reduce manual intervention, and improve safety. Work closely with production in on boarding new equipment and tooling to ensure repeatability after hand-off.
Continuous Improvement (Lean): Execute initiatives to improve cycle times, reduce waste and improve shop floor organization. Utilize data through Six Sigma methodologies to identify manufacturing bottlenecks and implement lean methodologies to streamline the movement of materials and information.
Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain high-quality manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and detailed work instructions that ensure technical requirements are met consistently. Work with Quality and Production to ensure all documentation meets ISO 9001 and will be adopted by personnel.
Quality & Engineering Support: Support the Quality department by ensuring shop processes can meet ISO 9001 standards. Perform QE activities like root cause analysis (Fishbone, 5 Whys), analyze data using statistical tools (JASP) and assist in all non-conformance investigations. Collaborate with the engineering design team to provide "Design for Manufacturability" (DFM) feedback on new and existing products.
