  1. Minimum of three years’ similar experience working in a fast-paced environment with increasingly responsible roles, customer service, and/or purchasing experience needed.
  2. Strong negotiation skills required.
  3. Must have strong Word, and Outlook skills
  4. Excel skills—demonstrated ability to create and properly format a spreadsheet, sort and filter data, enter formulas
  5. Solid attention to detail; must demonstrate quality documentation practices
  6. Superior phone etiquette a must; ability to relate to customers and vendors in a professional manner
  7. Must be able to handle multiple priorities to meet established deadlines
  8. Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills;
  9. Strong planning, organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization and follow-up skills
  10. Able to function independently within the scope of assigned responsibility as well as being a contributor to the team
  11. Willingness and ability to master company’s proprietary database program

Position Summary

To purchase facility services as stated above on a national scale
The agent will ensure that services needed for our customers’ operations are obtained on time and at the best price. Services must meet company/customer specifications and quality standards.
  1. Use the Internet, various search engines or recommend new e procurement techniques to identify prospective vendors that service the local market area
  2. Manages bid process for both prospective and existing customers
  3. Prepares requests for bids which provide accurate, detailed information to current and potential vendors about the services the company seeks to purchase as well as the specific customer requirements that must be met
  4. Seeks price quotes from multiple vendors and negotiates to secure the lowest price possible on services of comparable value
  5. Investigates potential vendors to ensure their reliability and the quality of their services
  6. Conducts market research by contacting new vendors, existing vendors or customers for referrals
  7. Collaborates with other Departments; develops internal and external constructive and cooperative working relationships.
