  1. SUMMARY
Manages and directs the execution of sales and marketing plans and initiative, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets, with advanced long-term growth the priority, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.  Growth of 10% or more each year is the goal.  Responsibilities including planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of sales talent.  Responsible to increase market share, sales revenue and profitability. 
 
  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and implements aggressive strategic sales plans for the sales team to meet goals in support of organizational strategy and objectives.  
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains a rolling 30 – 60 – 90-day action plan with measurable results. Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices. Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses. Builds, develops, trains and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
  • Provides support, feedback and direction to sales force, including regular coaching and mentoring sessions. Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets aggressive and measurable performance goals accordingly. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other internal departments. Prepares periodic, weekly, sales report showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, while minimizing the effects of competitive activity.
  • Evaluate marketing and lead generation results.
  • Evaluate market reactions to advertising programs to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Maintains market intelligence database to examine, analyze, and compile statistical data.
  • Develop and assist in conducting surveys and focus groups to analyze market demand, purchasing patterns, preferences, and the organization's image and marketing effectiveness. Summarize and evaluate information received. Utilizes current and historical data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Develops effective sales incentive programs which support company’s goals for growth.
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
  1. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and directs sales staff including recruitment, selection and development to achieve company goals and objectives.

  • Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred with a minimum of ten years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities in manufacturing.
