A health system located in Quakertown is adding an experienced Vice President Human Resources to its team.  If you are looking for the next chapter in your career, where you can have a seat at the table and be a strategic leader, this is the position for you. The director is responsible for the full cycle of human resources from onboarding through offboarding.
 
Major Duties & Responsibilities
 
  1. Supervise, mentors, coach and coordinate activities of the Human Resources department and staff that work in the department.  Responsible for conducting performance evaluation.
 
  1. Establishes and maintains job descriptions for all positions throughout entire organization.
 
  1. Strong healthcare recruiting experience required.  Ability to navigate through various ATS systems. Works with supervisors and managers to meet recruiting needs. Writes and places job order advertisements in print and on-line venues.  Completes recruiting and ensure job order is placed in all required locations.  Follow posting and advertising SOP.   Prepares and maintains department metrics/ dashboards (new hires, terminations, transfers and promotions) Tracks average time it takes to fill vacancies within the company. 
 
  1. Process and Monitors background check/ clearance progress and that all employees are in compliance at all times.
 
  1. Apply salary management plan in evaluating and negotiating salary offers with managers regarding new hires. 
 
  1. Manage FLSA compliance. 
 
  1. Assists with the Company’s Salary Administration and Performance Management Programs. Checks the accuracy and timeliness of performance appraisals/ merit reviews.  Reviews salary data for adjustments, reclassifications/promotions to assure they are within established guidelines and processes needed forms. Monitors movements in salaries and the health system’s local market and recommends changes as necessary. 
 
  1. Lead and assist with training for the overall needs such as Basic skills/ essential skills, product knowledge, service, culture etc.  Deliver training and conduct informational presentations on various topics.
 
 
  1. Review/ revise/ manage Employee Handbook/ Policies and Procedures. 
 
  1. Coaches/  supervisors in matters pertaining to employee relations not limited to disciplinary actions, career development, performance issues, working relationships, EEO-related issues, employment decisions, and policy and procedure interpretation and application.
 
  1. Administers and coordinates enrollment and termination in all group benefits plans. Lead annual open enrollment.
 
  1. Unemployment management
 
  1. Keeps abreast of regulatory changes and decisions and current Human Resources best practices to help ensure that employment practices conform.  Regularly attend Society for Human Resources and HR roundtable meetings and other training opportunities to keep abreast of regulatory changes. May research, evaluate and recommend new HR technologies, systems or services as necessary.
 
  1. Works closely with the Accounting Department during the payroll process.  Assist with payroll as needed. Participate in the new hire process through HRIS system. 
 
  1. Manage personnel files for compliance.  Inclusive of I9 compliance.
 
  1.  Participates at management level and other cross-functional teams/ meetings.
 
  1.  Manages and administers FMLA.   
 
 
 

Education & Experience

 
College degree in human resources business administration, psychology or related field, plus a minimum of 10 years of human resource HR Director level experience.  
 
Previous HR Manager/ HR Director level experience in a healthcare institution required.    
 
Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree.  
 
Supervisory experience required.
 
  PHR, SPHR Certification preferred.   
 
PC proficient including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
 
Ability to navigate and learn new systems with limited difficulty required. 
 
Working knowledge and experience at the HR Manager/ HR Director level of all of the fundamentals of Human Resources Management.  Familiar with laws and regulations impacting the human resource function.  Knowledge of financial institution operations, training requirements and services a strong plus. 
 
Strong attention to detail required.
 
Strong writing skills required.   The HR Department is responsible for often being the “voice” of the company.  The HR Director must have proven ability to craft and generate employee communication pieces with limited oversight.    
 
The HR Director is expected to be conformable creating training materials and leading content training.
 
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and problem solving skills. 
 
Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and determine what tasks must be completed and what tasks can be moved to a different due date.   Attention to due dates and meeting expectations of the position is required.
