Position Title:  Recruiter/Human Resources Coordinator

Summary Statement:  This position has the primary responsibility (60% - 70% of work time) to recruit, screen, hire, and retain applicants for hourly (non-exempt) positions across the Company.  This includes all store locations as well as the Donation Processing Center (“DPC”).   In addition, this position also has the on-going responsibility for store employees as it pertains to human resources (e.g. on-boarding new employees, new employee orientation, and employee relations).       
 
 
Essential Job Functions:
 
  • Lead overall recruiting effort for the Donation Processing Center and the multiple store locations.   Primary searches will be for hourly/nonexempt positions.
  • Develops and executes strategies to identify qualified candidates and applicants, screen and personally interview individuals, and make hiring recommendations in conjunction with Senior Management.
  • Identifies and develops multiple sources of candidate/applicant sources via the use of social media (must have previous recruiting experience sourcing candidates  using Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and various other preferred social media networking pages), carrier and networking events, Impact website “Job Page”,  local print media, churches, partner relationships, and governmental programs.
  • Responsible for the Impact Stores’ Employee Relations (Partners with the Director of Retail Operations and Store Managers).  Instructs first line managers on staff development, motivation, supervision and discipline; addressing employee questions and concerns regarding policies, work rules, benefits and the like, as well as participating in employee discipline procedures.
  • Manages and monitors Worker’s Compensation matters for stores; participates in Quarterly File review meetings.  Will also provide staff support to outside counsel in matters that have progressed to active litigation.
  • Attends staff and safety meetings at the stores as requested/required.
  • Trains in other areas of Human Resources, such as general New Employee orientation, Workers’ Compensation, health benefits, etc., as requested or required by Senior Management.
  • Provides direction and assistance in the administration of the employee benefits programs, including benefits education and guidance to all employees.
  • Assist in on-going employee and management development programs and courses for all employees.
  • Develops Human Resources forms, policies, and procedures when requested by CAO.
  • Respond to Unemployment Compensation matter filings.  Participates and/or defends Impact at Unemployment Compensation hearings when required.
  • Assist with FMLA determinations for all employees.
  • Works with and/or supervises Human Resources Assistant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
 
  • Computer proficiency in Windows products, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working with recruiting applicant tracking systems a plus but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • 2 – 4 years of previous recruiting experience in retail or hospitality setting required.
  • Some experience in effective staff training and education preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
